The house

Behind the bolster

One bench, one obsession: kitchen steel that a real household can buy once and use daily.

Amorston knives laid out on the bench

What we make

We make kitchen knives: block sets for the counter, full kitchen kits for households starting from zero, serrated steak knives for the table, and single fillet and boning knives for the one job they are ground to do. Every blade is stainless steel, and where a listing says German or high-carbon steel, that is the maker's wording and we repeat it exactly.

This site is our own catalogue of that work. 22 listings, 12,395 ratings behind them, sorted the way we think about them at the bench rather than the way a search box does.

How buying works

We build the knives and write these pages; the selling happens elsewhere. Every buy button leads to the live listing at our retail partner, and from that click on it is their checkout, their delivery network and their customer service. Prices on our pages are copied from the listings and move whenever the listings do.

What we promise here

  • Numbers you can check: piece counts, ratings and prices come from the listings, not from a copywriter.
  • Plain words about steel: no invented hardness figures, no pattern-forged claims our blades do not make.
  • Care advice we follow ourselves, even when it is stricter than the listing requires.
